Client: The Coffee Quarter
Project: Logo and identity, stationery and signage

Our client had just invested heavily in the modernisation of a popular old coffee shop. We suggested that a retro feel should be augmented by the use of words that are associated with visiting coffee shops. We then passed this across the entire identity including the signage, menu's, banners and staff work wear to give a professional uniform look throughout the premesis.

Client: Hug in a Bag (www.huginabag.com)
Project: Logo and identity design, illustration, calendar and family organiser

Our director has been a supporter of the Hug in a Bag cancer charity from when it started in October 2006 in Sunderland. Its aim is to give a 'hug' in the form of a pamper bag containing gifts and information to every person diagnosed with breast cancer in hospitals in Sunderland and Blackpool.

The design challenge was to create a universally warm and friendly identity based on the charity's mascot, a bear named 'Hugo', that could operate in conjunction with the original Hug in a Bag identity. The design strategy was to incorporate bold, funny and eye-catching elements but in a thoughtful and controlled manner (however nobody mentioned cute - that was a happy accident!). It was essential that the design have a dynamic and colourful look that would appeal to all ages and combine a feel-good factor with the encouragement of donor involvement. Designed as part of a complete brand identity, response to each application has been overwhelmingly positive, with the first production run of calendar selling out almost immediately. We continue to remain a valued partner in the organisation's many campaign objectives.
